FACEM – 9e édition

Dear colleagues,

We proudly announce the ninth edition of FACEM (www.facem.at)!

This edition contains several articles on the composition of coarse pottery from southern Lazio, Italy, dating from the 4th to the 1st centuries BC. There is also a contribution on an Archaic composition of architectural terracotta produced in Syracuse.

More news is that, since 2024, together with the IT-Support for Research, University of Vienna, new software has been developed that allows FACEM to comply with the FAIR principles. Furthermore, while retaining the acronym, the name « Fabrics of the Central Mediterranean » has been changed to « Fabrics of Ancient Ceramics in the Mediterranean » due to the planned expansion of ceramic fabrics beyond the original chronological and geographical scope of the database.

Cari colleghi,
